Yes, We can!! Ben & Jerry's
by Mustapha in

Ben & Jerry’s is the imprint of its founders. Nowadays, it’s considered to be one of the leading companies in the ice-cream industry, it’s has been created in 1978 by the two friends, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield. These guys have taken some courses in ice cream making and had a dream of opening their own shop and offer the best ice cream-experience in the region. In May, 5th, 1978, their dreams become a reality when they opened an ice-cream shop in a renovated Gas station, their initial investment was around 12000$.
In thirty years, Ben and jerry’s directors were able to make from this small idea a success story. Few years after its creation; Ben & jerry’s started expanding, they opened many other shops in the country and turned their company a well known brand around the state. In 1992, the company reached 132,000,000$ of sales, this was a proof of hard work and good management system. Few years after, and exactly in year 2000, Ben & Jerry’s has been acquired by the British-Dutch multinational food giant Unilever. This last promised to save and to follow the same tradition.

Nowadays, Ben & jerry’s is the one of the best ice cream brands in the world, it offers a widest range of ice cream flavors that people enjoy having during their work breaks or during their after work meetings.” The company mission statement is based on the following three pillars:
  1. Social mission: to operate the company in a way that actively recognizes the central role that business plays in society by initiating innovative ways to improve the quality of life locally nationally and internationally.
  2. Product mission: to make, distribute and sell the best quality all natural ice cream and euphoric concoctions with a continued commitment to incorporating wholesome, natural ingredients and promoting business practices that respect the earth and the environment.
  3. Economic mission: to operate the company on a sustainable financial basis of profitable growth, increasing value for our stakeholders and expanding opportunities for development and career growth for employees.” (The official website). The question that needs to be raised here is: what about competitors, what about their missions, are they targeting the same niches as Ben & Jerry’s? Let’s find out?
